Assignments are all out! They are due on February 2nd, 2026!

Please check the e-mail address associated with your AO3 account or the Assignments page on your AO3 profile. Your assignment will be there.
There are no Initial pinch hits. (yay!)

ASSIGNMENTS
You must create a work with at least one requested Relationship from your assignment as well as at least one requested Additional tag from your assignment. You must adhere to your assignments DNWs.

You do not need to fill every prompt from your assignment. You match to one ship and one additional tag on your assignment.

MINIMUMS
Fanfiction- 500 words
Fanvid- 60 seconds of vid
Fanart- Clean sketch

You are free to go beyond these if you wish. Treats have no minimums.

DEFAULTING & PINCH HITS
If you cannot complete your assignment, please Default as early as you can. The latest you will be able to do so without a penalty for the next MGSX is two days before the due date of assignments, January 31st, 2026


Assignments/Due Dates
Why?
Everything must adhere to the schedule so that the collection can open on time with everyone having a gift that meets the minimums. Like a traditional secret santa! Everyone who participates should get something on the reveal date.

How?
You must be finished with your gift, either 500 words of fic or a clean sketch if you draw, by January 31st 2024, 11:59 PM est. You have a whole month to create something. If you arent done by then, or think you wont be done by then, please contact me immediately via email (mgsx@squidge.org).

Defaulting?
If you must default, please press the Default button in your ao3 assignment tab. You do not need to contact me or ask permission to default. Just do it as soon as you can (Any time before January 31st, 2025) so we can get a pinch hit for your recipient.

Treating?
Treating is when you create something for a person you were not assigned to. Maybe you were really inspired by their prompt but only saw it after signups closed, and you weren't able to match to them! You are free to write/draw for them too.

How?
Simply post your gift work as you usually would, but put it in the mgsx_2024 collection. You can do this from the 'Post to collection' button on most pages of the collection Be sure to spell your recipients name correctly.
